On June 4, the NCEU-MK team, which consisted of the National coordinator prof. d-r Mileva Gjurovska, and the members of the Program Councils of NCEU-MK of the Working groups from Cluster 1, prof. d-r. Marina Mitrevska and prof. d-r. Dragan Tevdovski, held a meeting with the Deputy President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of good governance policies, Slavica Grkovska.
The reason for the meeting is the new stage in the work of NCEU-MK, which focuses on the fight against corruption and the protection of the financial interests of the state. In that direction, the support and inclusion of the Deputy President of the Government in charge of good governance policies, was requested in the activities of the newly established Anti-corruption Working Group. In the coming period this group will work on recommendations for improvement of the management of public finances and fiscal transparency, with the aim of reducing the opportunities for corrupt behavior in the public sector. Deputy President of the Government Grkovska expressed her readiness to support the National Convention for the EU and emphasized that in all activities related to the accession process, citizens’ awareness of the benefits of membership in the European Union must be improved.
It was also discussed about the previous activities, as well as the future ones, among which is the holding of the first session of Working Group 6 “Anti-corruption”.
